This page explains what personal data Northark Studio holds, why we hold it, and how to have it removed. It is written to be read, not to be survived.

Northark Studio Ltd is the data controller for the personal data described below.
This website collects nothing
There are no cookies on this site. No analytics script, no advertising pixel, no tracking of any kind, and no forms. Nothing is stored in your browser, and nothing you do here is recorded against you. The only way to contact us is by email, and that is deliberate.
Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, for security and to keep the site available. We do not use those logs to identify or profile visitors.
Business contact details we hold
We approach small businesses in the United Kingdom by email to show them a website we have already built for them. To do that, we hold a small amount of information about each business:
- the business name, trading address and telephone number;
- its website address, and our assessment of that website;
- a business email address published by the business itself;
- its company registration details, where it is a registered company;
- its publicly displayed customer rating and number of reviews.
Where a business email address includes a person's name, that information is personal data and this notice applies to it.
Why we are allowed to hold it
Our lawful basis is legitimate interests: identifying businesses that may want a website, and offering them one. We have weighed that against the interests of the people concerned. The information is limited to business contact details that the business has published itself, the approach is a single low-volume email with an easy way to stop it, and we do not build profiles or make decisions about individuals.
Where our marketing is subject to the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, we identify ourselves in every message, and every message carries a working way to opt out.
How long we keep it
We keep a business's details for as long as it is a live prospect, and no longer than twelve months after our last contact with it, unless it has become a customer.
If you ask us to stop, we delete your name, email address and telephone number straight away. We keep one thing: a record that you asked us not to contact you. That record exists only so that our systems never source your business again and send you a second unwanted email. Keeping it is what makes your objection stick.
Who else sees it
Nobody buys it, and nobody rents it. We use ordinary service providers to run the business — email delivery, hosting, database and payment processing — and they process data only on our instructions. We do not sell or share personal data for anyone else's marketing.
Your rights
Under the UK GDPR you can ask us to give you a copy of the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, or object to us using it at all. Because our basis is legitimate interests, you have an absolute right to object to direct marketing, and we will stop.
Write to contact@northark-studio.com. One line is enough — you do not have to explain yourself, and there is no form to fill in. We answer within one month, usually the same week.
Complaints
If you think we have handled your data badly, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK regulator, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes
If this notice changes, the date at the top changes with it.
